Bush.  Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party from 1998-2002.  Worked sales and marketing.  Worked in critical care medicine for almost three years.  University of Tennessee graduate.

(Oct. 29, 2007)  Media relations assistant and blogging coach at Belmont University, 2003-06; also in 2003 Hobbs launched a new media relations firm, Mesh Media Strategies.  He has done extensive editing work on three business books and written freelance articles for business publications and newspapers.  Ran the www.billhobbs.com blog, 2001-2008.  Press assistant for a mayoral candidate in the 1999 Nashville mayoral campaign.  Staff writer for the Nashville Business Journal, 1990-93.  Studied American history and political science for three years at Lipscomb University in Nashville, then transfered to Abilene Christian University in Texas and earned B.A. in mass communication, 1987.  Grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
