executive, he has held an number of positions with the Huntsman Corporation,
most recenty Chairman and CEO of the holding company. Under President
George W. Bush he was a deputy U.S. trade representative and U.S. trade
ambassador. Under President George H. W. Bush, he was deputy assistant
secretary of commerce for trade development, deputy assistant secretary
of commerce for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, as well as U.S. ambassador
to Singapore (fluent in Mandarin). Staff assistant to President Ronald
Reagan. Attended the University of Utah and received his bachelor’s
degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

A lifelong Utahn and two-term Attorney General. Prior to serving
as Attorney General, Shurtleff was Chairman of the Salt Lake County Commission.
He also served in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps and
as an assistant attorney general, a deputy county attorney, and a small
claims judge pro tempore in Utah. Graduated from Brigham Young University
and the University of Utah School of Law.
