ABC News And USA TODAY Announce Content Partnership For 2008 Election

McLean, Va. -- USA TODAY and ABC News announced today an unprecedented content-sharing partnership to provide expanded coverage of the 2008 election. In the midst of one of the most historic elections in US history, ABC News and USA TODAY will join forces in a unique and innovative agreement that will enhance both organizations' coverage of all aspects of the political process.

USA TODAY will contribute political stories, blog postings and interactive content to ABCNEWS.com while ABC News will provide daily and archival political video to USATODAY.com. Election coverage pages on ABCNEWS.com and USATODAY.com will be co-branded. The two organizations also will collaborate on select political stories.

"This extends a very successful partnership we've forged with ABC over the past couple of years," said Kinsey Wilson, executive editor of USA TODAY. "By combining our coverage of the 2008 election we'll be able to give readers of both web sites a much richer political report."

In addition to political coverage, USA TODAY will also contribute stories each week to ABCNEWS.com on topics including Technology, Money, Health, Travel and Style.

ABC News and USA TODAY have already collaborated on a number of successful joint reporting projects most recently on the latest instalment of the Emmy Award-winning series "Iraq: Where Things Stand." Other joint projects have included "The 7 Wonders of the World," "Living Longer, Living Better" and "Prescription for Change: Fixing American Healthcare".
