Notes:
-Also,
the probable campaign of Fred Thompson was raising money. At this
point Friends of Fred Thompson, Inc. was a "testing the waters" committee
and as such was not required to file.
-Only three candidates took
in general election contributions: Giuliani about $2.6 million, McCain
$1.2 million and Thompson less than $10,000.
-Three of the candidates
loaned money to their campaigns: Romney ($6.5 million), Thompson ($25,000)
and Cox ($190,000).
The Bottom Line
(Primary and General):
11 Republicans reported $50.3 million in contributions, $57.9 million in receipts, $51.3 million in disbursements and closing COH of $37.9 million. Top 5 in Contributions: Giuliani $17.5 million, Romney $14.1 million, McCain $11.3 million, Paul $2.3 million, Tancredo $1.5 million. Top 5 in Receipts: Romney $21.0 million, Giuliani $17.6 million, McCain $11.6 million, Paul $2.4 million, Tancredo $1.5 million. Top 5 in Disbursements: Romney $20.7 million, McCain $13.1 million, Giuliani $11.2 million, Brownback $1.7 million, Tancredo $1.5 million. Top 5 in COH (minus debts): Giuliani $18.3 million, Romney $12.1 million, Paul $2.4 million, McCain 3.2 million (minus 1.7 million), Tancredo $598,000. |
