NADER NABS CALIFORNIA PEACE & FREEDOM
PARTY NOMINATION
WASHINGTON, Aug. 2, 2008---Ralph Nader and his vice
presidential running mate, Matt Gonzalez, today clinched the California
Peace and Freedom Party (PFP) nomination, guaranteeing the Independent
candidates a spot on the state's ballot in the November 2008 election.
Nader and Gonzalez won the nomination on the first round at the PFP's
nominating convention taking place in Sacramento, Calif.
Mr. Ralph Nader is at 6 percent in the latest CNN poll. Now, unlike
in 2004, he is on the ballot in California where 10 percent of
Americans live. There can no longer be any justification -- if there
ever was -- for Ralph Nader not being included in every national poll.
Nader and Mr. Gonzalez are on a campaign swing through California
today and Sunday, making several campaign stops. For more on the
Nader/Gonzalez California tour, see: Nader and Gonzalez in California.
