May 19, 2006--Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) spoke on "Beyond Iraq: Refocusing
Our National Security Strategy" at the Center for Strategic & International
Studies. Feingold called for "a new national security strategy, one
that is not focused on Iraq to the exclusion of other more pressing priorities."
"We should start by redeploying our troops from Iraq," Feingold said.
Feingold is ranking member of the Senate Subcommittee on African Affairs;
he is also co-chair with Sen. Bill Frist of CSIS' HIV/AIDS Task Force. |
