Aug. 6, 2008--Gov. Tim Pawlenty
(R-MN), frequently mentioned as a possible running mate for Sen. John
McCain (R-AZ), spoke about "Sam's Club Republicans" at a National Press
Club luncheon. Pawlenty was elected in 2002 and re-elected in
2006 after serving ten years in the Minnesota House of
Representatives. Vice presidential speculation
has continued unabated for several months among both Democrats and
Republicans despite the
absence of reliable information. |
