Sept. 17, 2008--House Speaker
Nancy Pelosi and several other congresswoman held a press conference,
hosted by the Obama campaign, to discuss "Senator Obama and Senator
Biden's record of fighting for issues of concern to women and American
families." This event was part of a week of activities and events
targeted at women. From a campaign press release: "To kick-off the week of
activities, the Obama campaign announced an impressive list
of national women leaders who stand with the Obama-Biden ticket
because of their record of fighting for women and families and the
change they will bring to all Americans. On Tuesday the National
Organization for Women and Feminist Majority endorsed the Obama-Biden
ticket for the change women need.
"On Wednesday, the Obama-Biden campaign is receiving the endorsement of Lilly Lebetter at an event with Michelle Obama and Jill Biden in Virginia. On Wednesday night, Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton will participate in one of the largest women’s web forums, reaching tens of thousands of women in their living rooms. "On Friday, Barack Obama, Joe Biden & Jill Biden will hold women’s rallies in battleground states and over the weekend women leaders will be joining with Obama supporters to hold Women for the Change We Need events in all 50 states." |
