Nov. 20, 2008--With two months
to go until Inauguration Day, the Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC held an
"Inaugural Trade Show." VIPs and media could get a sense of what
the Ritz-Carlton will be offering during the week of festivities.
The Ritz-Carlton's "economic-minded" $50,000 Politically Correct package
provides a four-night stay in a luxury suite "in the spirit of
affordable luxury with a philanthropic endeavor." A bath butler
will draw baths, and guest bathrooms will feature custom handmade soaps from Harmony Creek Farm. During
their stay, guests will be able to satisfy their hunger at the
The Westend Bistro by Eric Ripert. The special Inaugural menu and
wine
pairing features "Hamachi Tartare with pineapple, cilantro and lime
juice, Sauteeed Mahi Mahi, prepared with macadmia brown butter and
served with bok choy; and Mango Cheesecake Parfait served with coconut
sorbet." Each night, guests will receive a different turn down
amenity. On the first night, Saks Fifth Avenue is providing his
and hers bags (contents yet to be divulged); on the second night,
guests will receive two books; on the third night there will be a "Survival Kit;" and on the fourth night
they will receive Michelle Obama's
Shortbread Cookies (prepared by the Culinary Job Training Students
of DC Central Kitchen and the chefs of The Ritz Carlton). Upon
completion of their visit, guests will be presented with the
pillowcases, embroidered with their initials. (more) |
