Presidential Race Shakes Out at CPAC
34rd Annual Conservative Political Action Conference, February 7-9, 2008

February 7, 2008--Former Rep. Bob Barr introduced Rep. Ron Paul.  Paul said, "Somewhere along the way we have drifted away from the Constitution.  And we as conservatives, especially conservatives running the Republican Party, we have drifted a long way from the positions that we used to hold on limited government."  He warned, "If we continue to do what we're doing, we're going to have a financial crisis, because you can't continue to spend too much, because there's a limit on how much you can tax, and we're taxed to the hilt."
