| December 29, 2006--Laurie McCray, a registered nurse from
Portsmouth, directed volunteers helping with the town hall meeting.
McCray first saw Edwards speak at Prescott Park in Portsmouth in July 2003,
"liked what he had to say," and supported him in the 2004 New Hampshire
primary. She is chair of the local OneCorps chapter; in August 2006
she hosted a kickoff event for OneCorps with Edwards at her home.
In September chapter members helped raise money for the local health care
center, participating in a scavenger hunt. In the fall members also
worked on a number of campaigns. McCray explained, "OneCorps is an
action group that's part of Sen. Edwards' overall mission for the country,
and what we do [is] we take things that we believe in and principles that
we believe in that are consistent with Sen. Edwards' platform and put it
