September 22, 2006--Alan Sears, President, CEO and General Counsel
of the Alliance Defense Fund; Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research
Council; and Dr. James Dobson, Founder and Chairman of Focus on the Family,
participated in a wide-ranging interview/Q&A.
Pointing to the strong support voters in a number of states have given
to constitutional amendments to outlaw gay marriage, Sears said the subject
is "a bridge issue" and a "unifier." Dobson said that while
President Bush is not perfect, "He is the most pro-life president we have
ever had and when it comes to the war on terror, he gets it." At
the urging of Perkins he also discussed a recent hunting trip he took with
his son to a Canadian island where he shot a bear. Dobson also threw
a few barbs at Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for the
Separation of Church and State, stating that Lynn "makes a living off me." |
